BINGA — A man from the Lusu area who followed an 18-year-old woman while she was driving cattle to the pastures and fondled her after she turned down his proposal, on Wednesday pleaded with the court to forgive him, saying it was “temptation” that had led him to touch the woman.

Report by Silas Nkala

Samukelani Sibanda (31) pleaded guilty to indecent assault charges when he appeared before Binga magistrate Stephen Ndlovu.

The magistrate convicted and sentenced him to three months in jail wholly suspended on condition he performed 105 hours of community service at Sikomena Primary School starting on April 15.

On March 31 this year, the complainant was driving cattle to the pastures when Sibanda followed her. While she was in the bush, Sibanda proposed love to her, but she turned him down.

Sibanda started fondling her breasts and private parts.
