6. Officially the Zimbabwe Electricity Supply Authority is claiming that it is installing pre paid electricity meters for free. I went to the electricity authority offices in Greendale to ask for a pre-paid meter. After paying the ‘connection fees’ my name was put on a waiting list where I was on number 243. They said every week their office is issuing 30 meters. I went back to the offices after three weeks and I was to be told that my name was now on number 266. One staff member then approached me and told me I was never going to get the meter unless I paid $300.
