Addressing journalists at the Zanu PF headquarters, acting party spokesperson Ignatius Chombo said President Robert Mugabe urged party members to remain committed to establishing a clean environment in cities, and deliver houses and jobs in line with the party’s ZimAsset policy document.

“Politburo members and those in government were exhorted to be vigilant in establishing clean and organised environments in cities, provide housing and create employment,” Chombo said. Mugabe also pleaded for unity, harmony, loyalty and ideological clarity from senior members of his faction-riddled Zanu PF party.

Meanwhile, the party’s national commissar Saviour Kasukuwere received a pat on the back for managing the party’s restructuring programme and ensuring the party won all the contested 16 seats in the June 10 by-elections.
