UANC president Nesbert Mtengezanwa told NewsDay the celebrations must be shunned by all Zimbabweans until a time when an independent body was chosen to confer hero status in a non-partisan manner.

Mtengezanwa said Zanu PF had monopolised the celebrations that were supposed to be national.
