THE Culture Fund of Zimbabwe has called on players — individuals, groups and organisations — in the creative sector wishing to travel as part of their artistic programmes to apply for the mobility impacts grant.

Culture Fund assistant projects officer Wadzanai Mutiwanyuka told NewsDay yesterday that the mobility impacts grant was meant for arts-related travels.
“It enables Zimbabwean nationals and residents to travel locally and internationally. This facilitates free expression of their art and engagement with audiences around arts, culture, and heritage, social and contemporary issues,” she said.
Applicants are also invited to apply for small grants to travel to destinations that promote progressive societal cohesion and development.
“The facility falls under the broader culture impacts programme that primarily seeks to enhance social cohesion, peace and improve livelihoods,” Mutiwanyuka said.

She said the grant would between July 2015 and February 2016 and there will be monthly assessments.
“The maximum amount per grant is $2 000. The facility will only be used to fund accommodation, a per diem of not more than $50 a day, which caters for meals and transport costs. It may include freight of creative goods,” she said.
She said the travel grants will be forfeited if recipients failed to respond to the Culture Fund’s offer within two weeks.
