JAMAICAN reggae-dancehall chanter, Mr Melody, is expected in the country tomorrow ahead of his maiden performance at the Soca Night gig on Tuesday at Red Fox Hotel in Harare as part of the on-going Harare International Carnival.

The Jamaican will share the stage with local acts including Judgement Yard Sounds, Red Fox Sounds, DJ Sadiq, DJ Simz, Platinum Entertainment and Digital One International.
Speaking to NewsDay from Trinidad and Tobago, the You Don’t Know hit maker’s manager, Marlene Seurattan, who is also the founder and director of the Jah Put Ah Hand Movement promised a polished set, adding that the musician is open for collaborations with local artistes.
“Mr Melody is super excited to come to Zimbabwe, where President Robert Mugabe is one of his icons of strength and leadership.Performing in Africa is every artiste’s dream and Mr Melody’s fans can expect a total package from him as a reggae and dancehall artiste who can also do hip hop and R&B,” Seurattan said.
“As a versatile artist who intends to win hearts and expand his fan base, Mr Melody is ready and committed to collaborate with Zimbabwe artistes.”

Mr Melody will also feature at the Red Fox Carnival Street Party on Saturday October 10 alongside an array of local dancehall chanters among them Guspy Warrior, Terminator, Ninja Lipsy and Nutty O.
Red Fox owner, Robert Zhuwao said they have partnered with Jah Put Ah Hand Movement, a Trinidad and Tobago arts organisation, seeking to create cultural links between the Caribbean islands and Africa.
“As always, Red Fox prides itself as being trendsetters for music from the Caribbean and as a result we are bringing Mr Melody to perform in Zimbabwe for the first time and fans should come in their numbers and support this talented artist,” he said.
“In bringing Mr Melody for the Harare International Carnival 2015, we felt it would add to the ambiance as carnivals are big in the Caribbean islands, where they originated.”
Zhuwao said Orlando Octave from Trinidad and Tobago, who was supposed to share the stage with Mr Melody, will not make it due to delays with his transit visa via the US.
Born in the United States, but spent many of his formative years in Jamaica, Mr Melody’s music personifies the daily struggles with relationships, family, life and love, while still maintaining a positive outlook.
His music features a combination of Reggae, R&B, Hip Hop, Pop & Dance-hall, which is a testament to his Jamaican connection.
