BULAWAYO, Jul. 1 (NewsDay Live) — Former nurse Cindy Nobubelo Mulelo, founder and chief executive officer of Cindy Herbal Products, has won the Best Exhibitor award in the Natural Remedies category at the SMEs Winter Expo held in Bulawayo.
Mulelo said the award was her third this year and reflected the growth of her business since leaving nursing to venture into herbal medicine.
“This is my third award this year. I’m happy for the recognition because it motivates me to strive for greater excellence,” she told Southern Eye.
“I grew up with a passion for the health sector. I’m a qualified nurse and worked at Thembani Clinic for 10 years before leaving to start my own business, which has grown from strength to strength.”
Mulelo said her company provides herbal remedies for a range of conditions, including hypertension and diabetes, as well as other ailments.
She said the business also offers therapeutic massage for people with spinal conditions and stroke rehabilitation, alongside health education and counselling services.

“We also assist clients with assessments and measurements to determine appropriate remedies,” she said.
Mulelo said she is a registered herbalist and emphasized that her practice complements, rather than replaces, conventional medical treatment.
“We do not encourage patients to stop taking medication prescribed by their doctors,” she said.
She said one of the biggest challenges facing the herbal medicine sector is the misconception that natural remedies are associated with evil spirits.
“We have been conducting educational programmes to demystify these myths,” Mulelo said.
She said public confidence in herbal medicine was improving, with more people seeking the company’s services.
