Bindura University of Science Education (BUSE) has unveiled its locally developed innovations at VivaTech 2026,being held at Paris Expo Porte de Versailles in France.
BUSE said its participation reflects its growing ambition in the innovation and ICT space, as well as its commitment to producing practical technologies for both local and international markets.
“Representing Zimbabwe on this global stage, the University is presenting a range of locally developed technologies under the Palpo brand, including cellphones, laptops, tablets, and software solutions,” the institution said.
BUSE said its exhibition has been well received by delegates attending the global expo, with particular interest directed at its integrated digital solutions designed to support monitoring and evaluation systems.
“Delegates and tech enthusiasts have been particularly impressed by the Chiringa Monitoring and Evaluation Dashboard, alongside the Palpo devices, which continue to attract rave reviews,” the university said.

The institution noted that its entry into the global innovation space builds on momentum created in 2025 when it launched its locally assembled Palpo devices, which have since gained recognition within Zimbabwe’s technology sector.
“Since launching its locally assembled Palpo devices in 2025, the University has captured national attention, and the brand has quickly become a household name,” BUSE said.
The university said its presence at VivaTech underscores its strategic vision of positioning itself as a leading hub for applied science, innovation and technology-driven development.
“BUSE’s participation underscores its commitment to innovation and its growing influence in the ICT sector. Through this platform, we are demonstrating that locally developed technologies can compete and stand out on the global stage,” the statement read.
The institution further emphasised that its innovations are not only aimed at technological advancement but also at supporting broader socio-economic transformation.
“Through this milestone, BUSE not only celebrates its achievements but also demonstrates the transformative role of science and technology in advancing education, industry, and national development,” the university said.
