One of Zimbabwe’s leading private hospitals, The Avenues Clinic, has officially reopened its refurbished its maternity ward, the third facility to be upgraded under an ongoing infrastructure renewal programme.

Addressing the media in Harare on Thursday, the clinic’s general manager, Sibusisiwe Ndhlovu, said the institution was on a deliberate path to align its facilities with regional and international healthcare standards.

“So far, we have completed upgrades to our surgical and medical wards on the first floor, as well as our private, OPS and gynaecology wards on the second floor. We have now reached the third floor with the completion of the maternity ward. At The Avenues Clinic, we are refurbishing our facilities to uphold the excellence of our brand,” Ndhlovu said.

The clinic’s Chief Financial Officer Peddy Chigunduru said approximately US$4 million has been invested in infrastructure renewal to date.
