RECENTLY-ELECTED Nkulumane lawmaker Freedom Murechu (Zanu PF) has been sworn in, marking the beginning of
his tenure in the National Assembly.
Murechu won the seat in a December by-election.
The seat fell vacant following the death of then opposition Citizens Coalition for Change (CCC) legislator, Desire Moyo, in a car accident last October.
While taking an oath, Murechu pledged to uphold the Constitution of Zimbabwe and to faithfully discharge his duties as a representative of the people of Nkulumane.
In a brief interview after the swearing-in ceremony, Murechu said he was committed to advancing the developmental aspirations of his constituency and ensuring improved service delivery.
