HOSTING a wedding ceremony is no mean feat.

From planning and budgeting to co-ordinating endless details — some visible, others hidden — it takes patience, teamwork and discipline.

This is where the wedding committee comes in.

Choosing gowns for bridesmaids, suits for the groom, outfits for the bridal team, hiring a venue, sourcing tables and chairs, arranging lighting, a public address system, photographers and caterers — all these require careful coordination.

For Chrispen Muzire, a bus driver at Masaisai Primary School in Westgate, Harare, meticulous planning came naturally.

His well-organised wedding ceremony mirrored the precision with which he handles the school bus everyday, ferrying precious young lives to and from school.

Weddings happen everyday, but what made Muzire’s union with Monica Bingadadi stand out was the diversity and prominence of guests who turned up to celebrate the couple’s big day.

Legislators, radio personalities, poets, content creators and musicians converged at Eva’s Gardens in Cold Comfort, Harare, on December 13, 2025, to witness the couple officially tying the knot.

Zengeza West legislator Innocent Zvaipa was among the notable guests.

Radio Zimbabwe personality Season Ndundu, popularly known as Ndundu Chikara, served as the master of ceremonies.

Fellow Radio Zimbabwe presenter Elsie Mojapelo was also present.

Adding flavour to the occasion was social commentator Mambo P, famous for the phrase “Uzvambukile lomnyaka”.

Renowned poet Abel Mauchi attended, as did sungura musician Precious Mbuzana — who also serves as an assistant inspector in the Zimbabwe Republic Police.

Musical entertainment was taken to another level when Mark Ngwazi, the man behind the hit Taurai Madzoka, thrilled guests as celebrations progressed.

National FM presenter Washington Marimira, popularly known as Bhozhongora, had been scheduled to attend, but was unable to make it due to other commitments.

Explaining how they managed to attract such high-profile guests, Muzire said relationships and shared interests played a major role.

“We support Honourable Zvaipa’s work and we attend the same church, St Peter Apostolic Church,” he said.

“Elsie and Ndundu — we are devoted listeners of their programmes.

“Also, I have followed Mark Ngwazi’s music from his early days and we love Abe Mauchi’s poetry.”

Muzire, a holder of a Code D (Class 1) driver’s licence, also achieved a milestone within his church.

“We are the first couple to tie the knot in that church,” he said with pride.

Beyond his work as a bus driver, Muzire is also a referee in Divisions 1 and 2 football leagues, as well as in schools competitions.

His bride, Monica, is a nurse at Sally Mugabe Central Hospital in Harare.

Before joining Masaisai Primary School two years ago, Muzire worked as a bus driver on local and long-distance routes with Stallion Cruise and Skellaton Buses.

The couple has been married since 2007 and is blessed with four children — three boys and a girl.

Their eldest, Brandon (18), is a rugby player who represented Oriel Boys High School in Chisipite this year.

Beavan (15) is a midfielder for Caps United Juniors.

Byron (10) is active in football and athletics at Masaisai, while Brillian (4) is already showing promise as a young athlete.

Muzire’s twin brother, Clayton, also played a key role during the wedding.

“He supports us in everything that we do,” Chrispen said.

“He also supports Beavan every time he plays football.”

And for once in his life, the man who spends his days behind the wheel got a taste of luxury transport — arriving at his wedding chauffeured in a Hummer stretch limousine.

A fitting ride for a day he will never forget.
