A 28-YEAR-OLD Midlands State University (MSU) student allegedly committed suicide last Saturday.
"Police confirms investigating a suspected suicide case involving a 28-year-old who died after hanging himself at his place of residence in Senga township in Gweru," Midlands provincial police spokesperson Inspector Emmanuel Mahoko said yesterday.
Mahoko said on May 11 at around 4.30pm colleagues found the body of Roy Much hanging from a window burglar bar with a black rope around his neck.
He said police were also investigating two separate fire incidents which led to the death of a seven months old baby and a 21-year-old man in Mvuma and Mberengwa, respectively.
In another incident which occurred on May 12 in Mberengwa, unknown people set fire to the hut in which Isaac Matsheza (71) and his son Tapiwa (21) were sleeping.
Matsheza tried to alert Tapiwa who was drunk to no avail.

Matsheza sustained burns and is admitted to Gwanda Hospital.
