Roughmix Entertainment will on Friday present the “Kings of the Dancehall Summer Bash” at Aquatic Complex in Chitungwiza.

The bash is set to welcome the summer season and will facilitate performances by some of the most talented local dancehall artistes like Guspy Warrior, Ricky Fire, Jiggaz and Elder Tifta K.

“We have chosen specific performers that we have realised are the most recognised icons for a lot of ghetto youths who love dancehall music,” said dancehall artiste and Roughmix entertainment spokesperson, Templeman.

Templeman said the show would start at 12pm and end at 9pm adding that they had so far received positive responses from various locals as they had already sold about 2 000 tickets.

He said people should expect nothing but fireworks from the performers as each one of them would have a couple of surprises in their performances.

“Guspy Warrior is going to showcase his talent in exactly 40 electrified songs and Jiggaz, who is well known for his multi-voice skills, will impersonate 15 popular Jamaican artistes’ voices before doing his own thing,” said Templeman.

He said during his performance, Ricky Fire would take the opportunity to introduce Chitungwiza’s youngest and talented Dancehall artiste, Fire Flame, who is 13 years old.

Templeman said fans should expect the best from these artistes as they have proved their potential when they were supporting acts for international dancehall icons, Cappleton and Elephant Man who performed late last year and early this year respectively.

“This show is for everyone although we have upcoming shows that will be mainly targeting the youths,” he said.

He said after the bash they would move around every ghetto in Harare hosting the “Summer Slam” where 10 upcoming artistes will be selected to work with Roughmix Entertainment throughout 2012.

Templeman said he knew there was great talent in the ghettos thus they were set to give various artistes a platform to showcase their abilities in the genre.
