It was a clash of celebrities at the Nando’s Pomona Restaurant launch as various celebrities mixed and mingled there over lunch.

Sports legends Peter Ndlovu, Norman Mapeza, Big Brother Amplified winner, Wendall Parson and singer Dudu Manhenga were all present to sample the Nando’s good flame-grilled chicken.

But some invited guests like superstar Oliver Mtukudzi failed to grace the event because of other commitments.

The celebrities were treated to the quarter chicken and chips, burgers, Espetada and wraps which they all seemed to enjoy. Ndlovu was flanked by two young females while Mapeza was also escorted by a female patron.

Manhenga attended the event alone and joined Kudzai Sevenzo who was accompanied by her brother.

Wendall as usual was with his boys alongside his supportive mother who is also his manager. The rugby boys were also looking muscular on the other end in their green uniforms.

Wendall and the rugby team proved popular attractions at the luncheon.

After months of refurbishment, the revamped Pomona opened its doors to the public on August 26.

Caroline Nyadzayo, Nando’s marketing manager said: “We are really delighted with the refurbishment and are excited that we will be able to align this restaurant with other Nando’s restaurants around the world,” she said.

She added that fast casual dining was the new global trend and Nando’s had set the standard in Zimbabwe.

“Nando’s Avondale was the very first branch outside South Africa where the brand originates. Since then the branch has spread its flame across 35 countries and sits at 1 000 restaurants worldwide,” she said.
