Sungura music maestro, Alick Macheso is set to perform at Jabula Inn, Esigodini, on Saturday.

Jabula Inn director Joram Moyo confirmed that the Madawu hitmaker would take to the stage at the entertainment venue.

“I spoke to Macheso and he promised to deliver a show to remember,” said Moyo.

“Everything is in place and the band is raring to go.” Macheso will perform with his band Orchestra Mberikwazo. Tryson Chimbetu, who normally takes his fans down memory lane with renditions of his late uncle Simon’s songs, will support Macheso.

Some of the late Simon’s hits include One Way, Newspaper and Dzandipedza Mafuta, among others. Macheso’s manager, William Tsandukwa, also confirmed the show in a telephone interview from Harare.

“Yes, the show will go on at Jabula Inn,” said Tsandukwa.

“It will be Macheso’s last performance at Esigodini this year, so his fans should come in their numbers and watch the superstar deliver his early Christmas present.”

Tsandukwa said Macheso would showcase songs from his latest album Zvinoda Kutendwa, which he performed in June at the venue, receiving thunderous applause for the tune.

“He will perform songs from the album and fans should also expect to sample some upcoming songs when the band performs,” he said.
