Selmor Mtukudzi and Tendai Manatsa have released their second collaborative album titled Ndinewe-I’m With You.

The album was recorded in 2009 and was produced and engineered by the late Sam Mtukudzi and Owen Chimhare, who both died in a car accident in 2010. According to a statement released by the couple, the album is a pledge for both artists to work together in their musical careers.

“The album carries the theme ‘naked truth’, which is also aptly captured photographically on the CD’s sleeve cover picture,” reads the statement.

“Our naked torsos in the cover picture of the CD sleeve symbolise the theme of the album — naked truth — but you will realise that the theme does not necessarily relate to the selection of the songs on the album, but rather to the messages we are conveying to each other as spouses.”

They said the album was initially supposed to be their first collaboration as spouses and the message to one another was: “Here I am with all my perfections and imperfections and I want to work with you and be with you truthfully, hiding nothing. We have preferred collaborations for a number of reasons. We thought that combining our talents and efforts would make us a stronger team. It also works in our favour that we will be touring together,” said the couple.

Ndinewe was produced as a special dedication to Sam.
