ORGANISERS across Harare have unveiled a massive line-up of regional and international talent for Africa Day long weekend, anchoring a city-wide cultural and entertainment showcase from May 22 to 24, 2026.
The entertainment line-up spans multiple genres, including jazz, amapiano, house and electronic music, alongside sporting events distributed across major urban venues.
The weekend programme commenced yesterday with “Fri-yay at Alliance” at the Alliance Française de Harare.
The jazz and world music headlined by veteran South African saxophonist Steve Dyer and the pianist-led Bokani Dyer Trio.
The event featured prominent local representation, including Afro-jazz bassist and vocalist Josh Meck, contemporary mbira artiste Hope Masike and local performer Tendex.
With tickets ranging from US$10 for pre-booked Alliance Française members to US$20 for general admission at the gate, the event showcased a truly memorable night and an excellent curtain raiser for the Africa Day Weekend

The third annual Sunshine City Festival will take over Harare Gardens on today (Saturday) and tomorrow (Sunday) under the overarching theme Different Paths, One City, integrating live music, theater, lifestyle exhibits, and athletics.
Today’s music line-up features South African house trio MiCasa, alongside Botswana’s comedian William Last.
Regional hitmakers and crowd pullers like Hulengende & Malloti will also perform live. With a line-up that includes the Guitar Sangoma Sylent Nqo, Chillspot (DJ Fantan and Levels), Yahya Goodvibes , Shone, DJ Fuji & MC Tatts and many more.
Tickets are distributed via Hypenation, with general access priced at US$10, VIP at US$20, and VVIP at US$50.
The festival transitions into a athletic event at dawn tomorrow, with the commencement of the Sunshine City Festival Half Marathon at 6am, before continuing its music programming into the afternoon.
Admission tickets grant access to both days of festival music.
Concurrently on Saturday, Jongwe Corner and DTL Records will present Piano Explore: The Tour Billed as a live-on-stage vocal performance rather than a traditional DJ set, the showcase features platinum-selling South African amapiano artist Young Stunna, supported by local acts Voltz JT and Trap Dee.
Advance dual-entry passes are priced at US$15, with individual VIP access available for US$20.
The weekend reaches its electronic music peak on Sunday at the Old Hararians Sports Club with Ngoma Nehosho’s Carpe Diem: DJs & Decks (Episode 4).
The 10-hour marathon event focuses on house music culture and it features three headline sets from major South African electronic artists/producer De Mthuda at 7pm, DJ Zinhle at 8pm, and international Afro-house heavyweight Enoo Napa closing at 9pm.
The extensive daylight supporting roster includes regional talent T Bass, Bulawayo selectors Nizhe DeSoul and Kotwane Hikwa, Cape Town’s Tashinga, and Harare-based artists Pretty Gangsta, Sikhulile, and DJ Taku Made The Beat.
Organisers confirmed that early bird ticket tiers have sold out; standard gate pricing is set at US$40 for general admission and US$80 for VIP access.
