CHEGUTU-BORN Afro musician Mr Eyes, real name Irvine Ndlovu, is preparing to captivate music lovers once again with his upcoming single Musandirase, a project he says carries deep emotion and a message many listeners will relate to.
The 26-year-old artiste, who has released more than 20 songs, continues to establish himself as one of the promising rising voices in Zimbabwe’s evolving Afro music scene.
Speaking about the new project, Mr Eyes revealed that Musandirase is more than just a song, describing it as an emotional expression inspired by real-life experiences and feelings.
“It usually starts with a feeling or an experience,” he said.
According to the musician, the song is intended to create a strong emotional connection with listeners.
“I want them to feel seen, as though the music speaks directly to their experiences and personal journeys,” he said.

Mr Eyes explained that his sound is constantly evolving as he continues to grow creatively and explore different dimensions of Afro music.
“Right now, I call it evolving. I am not boxed into one thing yet,” he said.
Growing up in church played a major role in shaping his passion for music and storytelling — an influence that continues to shape his artistic direction.
“Music was always the way people expressed emotions. The moment I realised I could make it, that is when I started to sing,” he told NewsDay Life & Style.
The artiste acknowledged the influence of Zimbabwean music icon Winky D, saying songs such as Ndaimbochema motivated him to keep believing in his talent and pursuing his dream.
As anticipation builds around Musandirase, Mr Eyes believes the project represents an important chapter in his musical journey.
“Each song has been a step forward in finding my sound,” he added.
The Afro musician said fans could expect more depth, versatility and authenticity from his future releases as he continued to grow his brand and connect with audiences across Zimbabwe.
For Mr Eyes, live performances remain an essential part of the musical experience.
“Live shows are everything. That is where the music becomes real,” he said.
With a new project on the way and a growing catalogue of music behind him, Mr Eyes is determined to keep building his presence in Zimbabwe’s entertainment industry
