TOMORROW, Hyatt Regency Harare The Meikles will unveil its inaugural Wedding Fair of the Year, a showcase that event organisers say is designed to inspire couples to bring their dream celebrations to life.

The all-day event, scheduled to start at 10am and end at 5pm, will unfold within the hotel’s newly remodelled event spaces, which reopened in April 2025 during a ceremony graced and officiated by the Tourism and Hospitality Industry deputy minister Tongai Mnangagwa.

The wedding fair marks the next chapter in the hotel’s legacy — one where timeless elegance meets modern celebration.

Guests will experience beautifully curated event set-ups, meet seasoned wedding planners, explore bespoke décor and connect with trusted vendors including photographers, bridal studios, florists, and stylists.

“It’s more than just an exhibition,” read a statement released by the hotel early this week.

“The wedding fair is a signal of love and a glimpse into the future of luxury events in Zimbabwe.

“This is where innovation, culture and global hospitality converge under one roof to help couples to bring their wedding vision to life.”

Gillian Makuza, the hotel’s marketing and communications manager, told NewsDay Life & Style that guests will be treated to soulful saxophone serenades, a live radio broadcast by ZiFM Stereo and interactive displays featuring the latest trends in décor, photography and event design.

“To heighten the excitement, attendees can enter an exclusive lucky draw, with prizes including romantic experiences, honeymoon stays and thoughtful wedding gifts from the hotel and its event partners.

“Even more prizes will be revealed in the lead-up to the event, adding to the anticipation.”

Said Stefan Bloemker, the hotel general manager: “Every love story is unique and we believe every couple deserves a setting as timeless as the moment itself.

“Our Wedding Fair is designed to inspire — offering couples a space where dreams meet detail and imagination finds its perfect expression.”

Located in the heart of the City of Harare, the hotel overlooks Africa Unity Square and is perfectly positioned as a gateway to the city’s business hubs and cultural landmarks, delivering all-in-one, intuitive care to business travellers, global explorers, leisure guests and local tastemakers — connecting them to the city through authentic experiences.

According to officials, the fair underscores the hotel’s continued commitment to creating moments of connection and celebration — merging Hyatt’s global standard of service with a distinctly local sense of warmth and creativity.

Couples and guests are encouraged to RSVP to BanquetingHRE@hyatt.com to secure their place at the exclusive showcase.
