One of Zimbabwe’s leading reggae musicians, Mike Madamombe, better known as Mic Inity in the entertainment circles, tied the knot with manageress Christine “Kiri” Manatsa in Harare on Saturday.

The two were joined in holy matrimony at the Roman Catholic Church. After the church procession, the bridal team drove around town and passed through the Joina City to give Mic Inity’s fans a chance to see him in his wedding outfit.

Like a true celebrity, Mic Inity’s wedding was well attended by friends, family and some of his music family. Stunner, Ex-q, Robert Zhuwao, Badman Bee, Guspy Warrior and uncle Rolland, were some of the personalities who graced the wedding.

Like in any Mic Inity show, some fans tried to gatecrash the wedding, but they were disappointed as the duo had hired highly-skilled security personnel that ensured no uninvited guests stole their way into the show.

Before the wedding, Mic Inity had made it clear that his wedding was a private affair for close friends and family.

“This wedding is between me and my wife and our families. If it had been something to do with my music life I would have made it a public affair,” he said before the wedding.

Popular reggae promoter, Nhamo Chitimbe, who assisted Mic Inity with his musical career, was part of the bridal team. He continuously gave speeches and continuously praised the newly-weds expressing his excitement.

Actress Tinopona “Tin Tin” Katsande and Morris Touch were masters of ceremony and they did not disappoint guests, as they kept them well entertained with their sense of humour.

Mic Inity thrilled guests when he dedicated one of his songs to his wife by singing and dancing to the track with her. Guests also joined in the fun by turning the wedding into a Mic Inity show, when they danced to his latest tracks off the album, Freedom.

Stunner, who is related to Kiri, was not to be outdone as he took to the microphone and showed off his skills by singing an impromptu tune that pointed out beautiful ladies were only found at his rural home.

The newly-wed couple is likely to do a lot of travelling after they received holiday vouchers in Zimbabwe and South Africa, with offers for horse riding lessons from Imba Matombo, among other packages.

Kiri said she was excited that all had gone according to plan.

“I am happy to be married to Mic, as I love him dearly and have been waiting for this day to come. It is also an exciting experience to have engaged in something that has God’s blessings,” she said.

The two have two sons together.
