Meikles Hotel general manager Tinashe Munjoma has been awarded fellowship of the Chartered Institute of Customer Management (CICM) for his contribution to customer service by virtue of leading the five-star hotel.
BY BUSINESS REPORTER
Speaking of the award last week, Munjoma said he was greatly honoured to receive a global fellowship as it embodied the “spirit of our entire team at Meikles Hotel”.
“Enthusiastic customer service is at the heartbeat of our (Meikles) culture that has positioned us as Zimbabwe’s finest five-star city hotel for 23 successive years, as voted by the Association of Zimbabwe Travel Agents,” he said.
A total of 10 fellowships, featuring various industries, were awarded at the breakfast function in Harare and presented by Harare Provincial Affairs minister Miriam Chikukwa, with Munjoma being part of the fellows.
CICM says their prestigious fellow status is conferred on those who have contributed immensely to the provision of customer service or “those leading organisations in a customer-centric manner.”

Meanwhile, Meikles Hospitality has launched its Christmas Day menu ahead of the festive season.
The menu will be on offer at the La Fontaine Grillroom, Stewart rooms and Pavillion Bistro, which features a wide range of delectable foods.
Meikles Hospitality managing director Sebastian Benning said the Christmas menu was becoming traditional as they wanted to allow more people to enjoy the Meikles experience.
He said last year, La Fontaine Grillroom, the Stewart rooms and Pavillion Bistro were fully booked on Christmas day.
From December 15 through to January 31 next year, deluxe rooms will cost $150 per night as the hotel seeks to get more people to try out the Meikles “five-star experience”.
In the first quarter tourism report, the national average hotel room occupancy rate decreased from 38% in the period January to March 2015 to 36% during the same period in 2016.
