My Dear People,

I hope you are all watching the circus currently unfolding in that building they call Parliament.

It truly makes me miss the days of Gushungo. At least back then, we had some decorum.

Now, we have a "new dispensation" that is so desperate to cling to power until 2030 that they are willing to turn our glorious military into a bunch of mall guards and buy off the opposition with shiny Japanese SUVs.

Stop it! Munopengaaaaaaa

I was reading about the chaos over this Constitution of Zimbabwe Amendment (No. 3) Bill (CAB3).

Honestly, the level of desperation is staggering. Can you believe they want to amend Section 212 of the constitution to say the military must act "in accordance with the constitution" instead of "uphold" it?

One brave MP, Innocent Zvaipa, hit the nail on the head when he said this reduces our brave soldiers to the level of Fawcett Security guards.

Imagine that! The same army that "assisted" in 2017—helping certain people into high offices they didn't earn—is now being told they are just private security.

The overzealous Ziyambi Ziyambi, got all hot and bothered, calling the MP a fool. But as Zvaipa asked: if he’s a fool, why is a wise minister asking a fool to withdraw his statement? Kikikikikiki

The real tragedy, my dear people, is why they are doing this.

This bill is a blatant power grab.

It wants to extend presidential and parliamentary terms by two years, moving the finish line from 2028 to 2030.

And because the scarf-wearer knows he might not win a real election, they want to scrap direct presidential elections in favour of a parliamentary vote.

They even want to give him the power to appoint 10 more senators.

It’s a "winner-takes-all" feast, and the people are not invited.

But don't worry, they’ve found a way to make the MPs happy.

While you are struggling to buy bread, some controversial  businessmen are reportedly handing out US$10 000 in cash. Money can change a person's tune very quickly, it seems. Kikikiki

Even the ruling party is shaking. This bill hasn’t just divided the country; it’s dividing the ruining and the war veterans who fought for this land.

And then there is the Generari.

He’s been going around speaking in riddles and biblical allegories.

At a burial in Honde Valley, he warned that the future is unknown and that we shouldn't think we know better than God.

He said—and I love this—that trying to outsmart the truth is like "beating a drum with an axe while sitting on a spear". Nothing good comes of that!

The Generari is clearly not happy about the plan to remove the "one-man-one-vote" principle that people died for.

He’s been preaching about King Hezekiah, which everyone knows is a jab at Scarfmore’s attempt to use CAB3 to cling to power. It seems the "unity" they bragged about after 2017 was as fake as a designer handbag from a downtown market.

Meanwhile, we have Sengezo Tshabangu’s camp acting like they are negotiating a "better deal" than the 1987 Unity Accord.

His spokesperson says the bribery allegations are just "morbid symptoms" of a transition. Transition to where?

A transition to a one-party state where everyone is for sale?. They say they want a "government of national consensus," but it looks more like a government of national cash-outs.

Munopengaaaaa

It’s pathetic. The Zimbabwe Constitutional Movement (Zicomo) is right: Zimbabwe is not for sale.

Our legacy shouldn't be traded for a Toyota Fortuner or a single-year US$4 500 allowance.

But as we see every day, some people would sell their own mothers for a bit of "modernisation" and a luxury ride.

Gushungo warned you. He told you that those who live by the sword—or the coup—will eventually find themselves sitting on a spear.

And from the look of things, that spear is getting very sharp.

Munopengaaaaa

And while we are talking about selling out, let us look at the sheer hypocrisy of these "modernisation" enthusiasts.

Imagine an MP like Susan Matsunga standing up in the August House to praise the Robert Mugabe International Airport and the Trabablas Interchange as reasons to give the Scarf-wearer two more years.

Since when does a bit of tar and a few boreholes justify tearing up the supreme law of the land?

It is clear that for some, the "currency" of national interest is actually just US$10,000 cash delivered through shadowy middlemen.

The Tshabangu lot are even worse, claiming they want a "government of national consensus" while their members are reportedly being bought like cattle at a weekend auction.

They call these bribes "morbid symptoms" of a transition, but we all know it’s just plain old corruption.

Even the Generari had to remind them that people went to the bush for "one-man-one-vote," not "one-man-appointed 10 extra-senators.

To scrap direct elections is to spit on the graves of those who fought for this country.

You can’t outsmart God with a fleet of Toyota Fortuners, my dear people.

The truth will always out, and right now, the truth is that the "new dispensation" is just an old desperation

Munopengaaaaaaa

Stop It!
