TWO adult sisters died in a midnight inferno after their rented room in the Impala Extension suburb of Beitbridge caught fire on Tuesday night.
The sisters lived with the husband of the elder sibling who was out drinking. They were burnt beyond recognition.
Officer commanding Beitbridge police district Chief Superintendent Tichaona Nyongo confirmed the incident saying investigations to establish the cause of the accident were underway.
“It is confirmed, though investigations to establish the cause of fire are in progress.
“The husband left his wife and her sister at home (a rented single room) as he went for a beer drink around 8pm. A neighbour discovered the fire after midnight,” Nyongo said.
