BULAWAYO musician Mzingaye Roderick Sibanda, aka The Shoemaker, says the remixed track of the song Sondela is dedicated to people who are in love as we are still in February, which is regarded as the month of love.

Speaking to Standard Style, The Shoemaker said Sondela is a remix for the original single he did in 2018.

“The remix of Sondela is a song that talks about love and all the sweet words that a lover tells their partner with the promise of marriage, undying love and encouragement for the partner to feel loved and invited into the close circle of love,” The Shoemaker said.

“I naturally felt like the song could have gone bigger a second time around, therefore, I re-launched it with the help of my good friend Msiz’kay.

“I feel like this track will be more relevant to people in love who are deciding to take their relationship to another level. The bridge says, Angisafuni omunye umuntu ngifuna ukushanda lawe (I don’t want anyone else anymore, I want to marry you).”

The word sondela means come closer.

Sibanda sings in nine languages, including Ndebele, Shona, Nyanja, English, Xhosa, Zulu, Nambya, Tswana and Pedi.

Armed with three projects — Mzingaye (2013), Methylated Spirits (2014) and The Compilation (2017), The Shoemaker said he gets most of his inspiration from Msiz’kay.
