After a public outburst on social media, Madam Boss’ sister and a member of her management team, Fungai Mtisi revealed that the socialite is battling mental health issues.

On Friday, Madam Boss, born Tarisai Cleopatra Chikocho, publicly lashed out at a media house over an April Fool’s Day prank.

On April Fool’s Day, media outlets have for years pulled a joke on readers by publishing prank stories.

No one knows for sure how the day came to be celebrated on April 1, but there are lots of myths surrounding it.

Some say it started with the Roman festival of Hilaria, while others trace it to the Hindu festival of Holi.

The local media outlet had published a story titled Madam Boss files for divorce? which angered the socialite whose husband Ngonidzashe Munetsiwa made headlines recently for an alleged adulterous relationship.

At the end of the story the publication put a disclaimer that the story was just an April’s Fools Day prank, but Madam Boss didn’t have any of it.

The socialite, who is currently in the United States, lashed out at the reporters and the publication’s superiors with unprintable words in the comments section under the publication’s Facebook post.

The comment was later deleted. However, screenshots had already been grabbed and making rounds on social media.

In Madam Boss’ defence, Mtisi questioned why the newspaper had published such a prank and revealed that the socialite and actress was battling mental health issues.

“They don’t know what you are going through behind social media. They don’t know I have to be up many nights talking to you and reminding you how special you are to the family. They don’t know how much money we have lost to keep your mental health fit. They don’t know that you cry behind the camera.  They don’t know the pain you are suppressing that has resulted in you being in the hands of mental health therapists,” wrote Mtisi on her Facebook wall.

“You told them ‘how you got the ‘semi-colony’ tattoo and the ear-piercing as part of your mental health therapy, but they don’t seem to understand!

“We, [the management team], decided to remove you as the admin on your page, it worked for a while and because we are now guided by International Mental Health Therapist, you can now access your page as the admin.

“Let it be known that Tyra is fighting for her mental health.

“I know after reading this, you will say all you want and add more fuel.

“It’s not a joking matter anymore.

“We only have one Tyra in our family.”

Sweden-based outspoken socialite Tatelicious Karigambe-Sandberg urged Madam Boss not to pick up fights with the media.

Karigambe said her outbursts will taint the image and reputation of the brands she represents.

“Don’t let people ask who you really are,” posted Tatelicious on her Facebook post.

“They will dig and find your past. Don’t listen to the noise of the market, you will lose focus.

“ I didn’t like this side of you.”

She said media outlets have written negative stories about her but never reacted.
