Top Zimbabwe golf professional Scott Vincent bagged a whooping US$1 1 million cheque after producing his career-best finish on the LIV Golf League and secured a spot on the money-spinning tour in Saudi Arabia on Sunday.
Vincent carded 70-62-66 in three rounds for a 12-under-par total which saw him tie for third place, two strokes behind eventual champion, American Brooks Koepka.
And for his efforts, Koepka got US$4 million all to himself.
The 31-year-old Zimbabwean golfer went into the final event of the 2023 LIV Golf League regular season needing something special in order to finish inside the top 24 on the Order of Merit Standings to avoid relegation.
Vincent proved that he can compete against some of the world’s best players on the LIV Golf circuit with a memorable display as he posted his best individual finish ever in 20 starts on the LIV Golf circuit with a third-place finish at Royal Greens Golf and Country Club in Jeddah.
Vincent’s impressive showing in Jeddah landed him a guaranteed spot in the LIV Golf League for next year as he moved him from 31st to 22nd on the standings.
After the feat, Vincent was ecstatic.
“Incredible! Incredible! What an amazing year. What an amazing day. All I can do is just thank God for this amazing opportunity to be here, and how he kept me going today through all the ups and downs, it was just amazing,” he said after the final round.

A devout Christian, Vincent refused to take credit for the miraculous turn of events achievement opting to give all the glory to God.
“I believe in God. His hand was in it today. All the glory to him!” he said
Over the 54 holes, Vincent made an eagle, 14 birdies, and four bogeys to achieve a second top-10 finish in his two seasons competing in LIV Golf.
The former Chapman Golf Club junior golfer, who now plays out of Colorado Golf Club in the US, placed fourth in Singapore in late April.
Vincent originally landed a spot on LIV Golf by winning the International Series Order of Merit during the 2022 Asian Tour season.
LIV Golf concludes its 2023 season next week with a team championship in Miami where Scott’s young brother Kieran will also be aiming to join his brother in the LIV Golf League next season via the promotion/relegation event.
