Reigning in authority

John 17:16

LAST week, I ended up with the following statement.

There’s so much compelling evidence that when you were saved you entered heaven from where none is able to pull you down which is our first line next week.

That’s the believer’s abiding place from where she/he reigns.

We're still pursuing basics of our Christian standing in authority.

I want to solidify your faith.

Please use these pillars and believer’s building blocks so that you won’t shake.

There are things you have to be rooted in early in the year and more importantly in life.

The believers’ walk in authority has to be expressive in our lives. We have to walk in victory and power.

Reigning in authority requires full knowledge of what we received and who we became upon salvation.

We’re seated in power, authority, dignity and honour in heaven with Jesus. Ephesians 2:6 tells us, “And hath raised us up together, and made us sit together in heavenly places in Christ Jesus:” We don’t use earthly power but heavenly, spiritual and supernatural power.

Even though we’re on earth, our spirit resides in heaven which realm is more real than the physical and charts the course of the physical and natural world.

We also change circumstances and situations from our office in heaven.

Our spirituality is more real than our physicality. Please never forget that.

In praying for His disciples and us by application, Jesus stated that we’re not of the world.

We read John 17:16, “They are not of the world, even as I am not of the world.”

Where Jesus is, is where we are found. It therefore means that we stand in glory and majesty.

We have the assurance from 1 John 4:17, “Herein is our love made perfect, that we may have boldness in the day of judgment: because as he is, so are we in this world.”

In terms of power and authority, we have all that Jesus is.

He overcame sin and all evil.

We enforce it in our walk.

Sickness and death submit to the power and name of Jesus.

We enforce Romans 5:17, “For if by one man’s offence death reigned by one; much more they which receive abundance of grace and of the gift of righteousness shall reign in life by one, Jesus Christ.)”

We’re the righteousness of God in Christ Jesus and we received the grace.

The power we yield is tremendous.

In rising from death, Jesus received from God the Father all His power.

We’re told in Ephesians 1:19-20, “[19] And what is the exceeding greatness of his power to us-ward who believe, according to the working of his mighty power, [20] Which he wrought in Christ, when he raised him from the dead, and set him at his own right hand in the heavenly places,”

Previously we commented on this portion of Scripture and said that the mighty power which God wrought in Christ from the original text means power exceeding target.

It’s like using a missile launcher to kill a bird.

Dear reader, if you’re saved, the power that brought you to salvation is beyond what you require.

We also know that the Spirit that raised Jesus from death is in us.

Romans 8:11 records, “But if the Spirit of him that raised up Jesus from the dead dwell in you, he that raised up Christ from the dead shall also quicken your mortal bodies by his Spirit that dwelleth in you.”

The Spirit of God abides in the born again believer.

The natural question will be; but Pastor I still have issues?

Rejoice and glorify God for the manifestation so far and seek knowledge and rest in areas you still need realisation of the fulfilled promises of God in Christ.

The Bible tells us in 1 Corinthians 15:25, “For he must reign, till he hath put all enemies under his feet.”

In dealing with whatever you’re still dealing, praise God the Father for all evil manifestation is coming under your feet in Christ.

Now unto him that is able to keep you from falling, and to present you faultless before the presence of his glory with exceeding joy, to the only wise God our Saviour, be glory and majesty, dominion and power, both now and ever.

Grace and peace be multiplied to you through knowledge.
