Tshuma dismissed assertions that the government does not want to develop Matabeleland region indicating that the region lacked representation.

Government officials including President Emmerson Mnangagwa should be banned from going outside Zimbabwe for medical treatment, Zanu PF aspiring legislator for Tshabalala-Phelandaba Joseph Tshuma has said.

Tshuma made the remarks during a media conference held in Bulawayo on Wednesday this week. He took a swipe at the opposition Citizens Coalition for Change (CCC) legislators for making noise and getting ejected from Parliament regularly.Tshuma dismissed assertions that the government does not want to develop Matabeleland region indicating that the region lacked representation.

“We have got Members of Parliament who have gone there to sit, not representing us. People think that if one goes to Parliament and speaks about issues you become anti-Zanu PF. Zanu PF is there for the people so that they get the best in their country,” he said.

“I can dare you right now. If I go to Parliament, my first speech and first proposal is to ban all ministers and even the President himself, from going to seek medical treatment outside the country. I want them to know that when they fall sick they must go to Mpilo or Parirenyatwa hospitals.”

Tshuma said it was the only way in which Zimbabwe could have the local hospitals adequately equipped and ensure the people get the services that they deserve.“No one should go outside the country. Let’s all get treated here, that is how you get your country fixed. I am not being anti-Zanu PF by saying that we want functional health systems,” he said.

He also called on Zimbabweans to be sincere with one another for the good of the country, adding that they needed to tell each other the truth.“I hate politicians who go to Parliament to seek jobs. I will not go to Parliament to plead with anyone. I'm a businessman already. Those who will vote for CCC are as good as having flushed their votes because they will be useless,” he said.

“As we speak there is a Zanu PF MP in (CCC leader Nelson) Chamisa’s home area. His relatives are being fed by Zanu PF even his cockroaches.”Tshuma said he would not remove his Zanu PF party jacket anytime soon, adding that it gave him strength. However, Tshuma castigated the land reform programme undertaken by Zanu PF during the 2000s saying the ruling party was clueless when it took over the farms.
