Thirty learners at Zezani High School in Matabeleland South province received much-needed stationery and school uniforms yesterday through the support of members of the Campaign for Female Education (CAMFED), in a gesture aimed at promoting access to education and supporting vulnerable learners.
The donation is expected to ease the burden on disadvantaged families and help learners remain focused on their studies without the challenges associated with a lack of essential school requirements.
School authorities expressed gratitude to CAMFED for its continued commitment to empowering young people, particularly girls, through education.
In a statement, a Zezani High School official said the donation would go a long way in improving the educational experiences of the beneficiaries.
“We were delighted to witness 30 of our learners receiving stationery and school uniforms through the support of CAMFED members. We sincerely appreciate the invaluable contribution made by CAMFED in promoting access to education, particularly for the girl child. Their continued support plays a significant role in empowering learners and removing barriers to educational opportunities,” said the official.
The school emphasised that partnerships with organisations such as CAMFED are crucial in ensuring that learners from underprivileged backgrounds are afforded equal opportunities to succeed academically.
“As a school, we remain committed to providing a conducive and inclusive learning environment for all learners, including those from disadvantaged backgrounds, and to ensuring that every child has the opportunity to achieve their full potential,” the official added.
CAMFED has been instrumental in supporting the education of vulnerable children across Zimbabwe, particularly in rural communities where financial constraints often threaten school attendance and completion rates.
