BULAWAYO Ward 11 councillor Susan Sithole has commended residents of Emakhandeni for their community action in joining hands with the police to combat rising crime.

Speaking to Southern Eye, Sithole said thieves have been wreaking havoc in the community.

She applauded residents around the Easy Pick area for their swift response in applying instant justice to suspects who had recently been trying to terrorise the neighbourhood.

“I wish to extend my sincere appreciation to the community of Easy Pick for their swift and united response in assisting with the apprehension of thieves who have been operating in the area,” Sithole said.

“Your vigilance, cooperation with the police and willingness to protect one another reflect the spirit of ubuntu that makes our ward strong.”

She emphasised that such collective action sends a clear message that criminal activity will not be tolerated in Emakhandeni.

“I encourage you to continue working closely with the police and neighbourhood watch structures and to report any suspicious activity immediately,” she said.

Sithole added that her office remains available to support any further community safety initiatives residents wish to undertake.
