Construction of the Highlanders Clubhouse security wall (durawall) remains at a standstill, with no visible progress despite reports that full payment allegedly believed to be close to US$130 000 was made to the contractors months ago.
This publication understands that the construction company initially quoted US$109 000.
However, additional works reportedly pushed the total cost up to around US$130 000.
At present, a small section has been completed, while the rest of the perimeter remains open.
The facility remains exposed, potentially creating a haven for trespassers or a hotspot for drug abuse.
It is understood that rains previously disrupted construction progress.
However, with the rainy season seemingly coming to an end, questions remain whether the project will now be completed without further delays.
