Renowned Midlands gospel musicians Rosemary Mzezewa and Yeukai Mangwaza are set to collaborate on upcoming projects, bringing together their shared passion for faith-driven music and community service.
The two artists, popularly known as Amai Mzezewa and Mother of Nations respectively, said their alignment in musical style and spiritual calling has inspired plans for joint productions aimed at delivering uplifting gospel messages.
“God has a way of aligning people. Even our stage names reflect something deeper,” said Amai Mzezewa.
“Before God, there is always meaning in a name—it carries purpose and honour.”
Both musicians hail from Gweru and have built strong followings across Zimbabwe, with reputations for producing mature and spiritually rich gospel music.
Beyond music, the duo also share a background in hospice care, reinforcing their commitment to serving communities.
“The collaborations we are considering reflect unity and our shared roots,” said Mother of Nations. “Through our music, we believe God will speak to people’s challenges and bring healing.”
Amai Mzezewa, who began recording in 2003, has released at least seven albums and remains a respected figure in gospel music.
Her work has been compiled into the Messianic Lemba Song Book for Jewish Voice Ministries in Zimbabwe. Her popular tracks include Ngavavongwe, Bako Rangu, and Tinetariro, among others.
Meanwhile, Mother of Nations has released several singles and an album titled Hakuna Hondo in 2024, with a second project in the pipeline.
“It is our duty to use our gifts to honour God and serve humanity,” said Amai Mzezewa.
“Working together will not only bless others but also help us grow.”
Mother of Nations added that the collaboration could open doors for other musicians.
“We are excited about the journey ahead. This is bigger than us—it’s about creating opportunities and spreading the message,” she said.
While the duo confirmed that a song has already been recorded, they said official details will be announced in due course.
