A private security company has launched a technology-driven community safety initiative designed to help residents and businesses strengthen crime prevention and adopt proactive security measures.
Touchworld Security managing director Sydney Sibanda said the company was established in 2022 with the goal of delivering modern security solutions to businesses, homeowners, and the public.
He noted that the company leverages technology to develop tailored security systems that meet the unique needs of its clients.
“We created a product called Home of Special Interest, which was designed to provide peace of mind to residents through patrolling guards in the area,” Sibanda said.
“If a neighbour subscribes to the scheme, we deploy two guards who patrol the designated zone using a global guard patrol system.”
He explained that the patrol system uses tags and readers that allow guards to scan participating homes during their rounds.
This enables the company to monitor guard movements and enhance transparency and accountability.
“We also place warning signs outside homes that subscribe to the package and provide a dedicated phone line for residents to use in case of an emergency,” Sibanda said.

In addition, the company offers sensors and alarm systems integrated with the patrol teams.
“If an alarm is triggered, there is an immediate response from the patrolling team,” Sibanda said.
“Our approach is proactive security, unlike the reactive model where companies respond only after an incident has occurred.”
He said the scheme encourages collaboration among residents, security personnel, and law enforcement agencies.
“Our joint efforts with the police make it easier for members of the public to access assistance and present their cases when incidents occur,” he added.
Sibanda also noted that the company conducts surveys following theft incidents to help identify suspects and strengthen security measures within communities.
