Mwenezi clinic, school get timely boost

A clinic in Mwenezi East has received a material boost following a donation of solar panels, a water pump, and pharmaceuticals aimed at improving access to primary health care.

Mwenezi East Member of Parliament (MP), Sheillah Chikomo (pictured), made the donation during the International Women’s Day commemorations.

Chikomo said the donation was aimed at ensuring the health facility has reliable utilities and essential medical supplies to serve the community effectively.

“At Nyuni Clinic, we want to ensure that nurses and health workers have the resources they need to serve our communities effectively,” Chikomo said.

Chikomo also recognised the dedication of its health workers, awarding US$300 to a nurse for her commitment to attending to patients under challenging conditions.

“Through unity, empowerment, and support for one another, we can build stronger communities and contribute to the national vision of prosperity for all Zimbabweans,” she said.

“Women are the backbone of our communities and they must never be left behind in development.

“We must uplift one another and ensure that women have access to opportunities that improve their lives and the well-being of their families.”

Meanwhile, Tokwe-Mukosi Primary School also in the same constituency, also received a financial boost to support young talent.

The school’s physical education and gymnastics team was awarded US$500 to support the development of young athletes who showcased their skills at the event.

“These children have great talent and they must be supported so they can grow and achieve their dreams,” Chikomo said.
