A visually impaired woman from Binga in Matabeleland North is appealing for assistance to pursue her dreams of advanced education and music.
Tusyome Ndlovu (32) from Pashu village in Binga completed her Ordinary Level studies in 2010, passing isiNdebele and Commerce.
However, while waiting for her examination results that year, she began experiencing serious eye problems that later altered the course of her life.
“In 2012, I decided to go back to school, but by that time my condition had become more serious,” she said.
“I went to the hospital seeking medical help, but unfortunately, there was no improvement. In 2018, I became totally blind.”
Despite the life-changing setback, Ndlovu says her desire to further her education never faded.
Her long-term goal has always been to obtain at least five Ordinary Level passes and eventually advance to tertiary education.
“My wish has always been to return to school and obtain five Ordinary Level subjects,” she said.

“However, because I had not yet been introduced to people who could assist me, I remained without support until 2025.”
In June last year, she was introduced to other people living with disabilities, including those who are visually impaired.
“I am now seeking help to continue with my schooling, as I currently do not have anyone supporting me in achieving my goals,” she said.
“My desire is to advance my studies up to the tertiary level.”
Beyond academics, Ndlovu has a strong passion for music, which she hopes to develop further if given access to mentorship and training.
“In addition to education, I am also passionate about music and would appreciate any support or mentorship that would help me develop and sharpen my musical skills,” said Ndlovu.
