The 2026 Central Region Soccer League season is set to deliver a new rivalry pitting Gwanda Pirates and newcomers Super Strikers, nicknamed Super Yoyoyo, in what will be their first-ever derby clash.
Unconfirmed reports suggest that Gwanda Pirates were formed out of Super Yoyoyo after an alleged misunderstanding among leaders, leading to a split.
Following their recent promotion from Division 2, Yoyoyo have now joined the Division 1 ranks, where Pirates have already been plying their trade.
With pride and local bragging rights at stake, the fixture has the potential to emerge as one of the biggest derbies in Matabeleland South province.
