A South African–based Zimbabwean media personality, Zibusiso Ncube (29), popularly known as “Zee Arentz,” has announced that he is now a fully-fledged, exclusive fashion and modelling presenter.
Ncube told Southern Eye that when he moved to Johannesburg 10 years ago, his goal was to succeed as a model, but he was unsuccessful and decided to pursue a career as a media personality instead.
“I moved to Joburg in 2013, and the following year I signed up with a modelling agency,” he said.
“I trained there as a model, but never did any gigs at the time.
“After a year, my contract expired, I never re-joined, and I became a freelancer.
“At the time, I used to watch a lot of TV—mainly lifestyle and talk shows—and personalities like Bonang Matheba, Lerato Kganyago, and Minnie Dlamini were popular, giving TV presenting a whole different vibe. I thought, ‘This is what I want.”
Ncube said he attempted to become a talent show TV host in Zimbabwe, but that endeavour also stalled due to his lack of connections with the state-owned broadcaster.
“In 2017, I temporarily moved to Harare with a talent show TV concept that I was trying to pitch to ZBC,” he said.

“I even tried hosting a sample show, but without sponsors, connections, or experience at the time, I failed.”
He added that since moving to South Africa, he has hosted exclusive red carpets for events like the South African Upcoming Musicians Awards (SAUMAs) and served as a judge for several beauty pageants.
“Well, fast-forward to where I am now, I have done quite a lot of projects in broadcasting and live event hosting,” he said.
“The term that best describes what I do is ‘multimedia personality’ because of the variety of media I’m involved in.
“ I hosted the red carpet in 2021, I have been a judge for a couple of beauty pageants in SA — mostly in the West Rand, where I am based.”
He added: “I also had a celebrity talk show that I hosted once a week virtually.”
Ncube said his ambition was to own a celebrity and entertainment talk show in both Zimbabwe and South Africa.
“In the next five to 10 years, with the amount of dedication and passion I put into my work, I would love to see myself as a successful, appreciated TV and media personality in Zimbabwe,” Ncube said.
“My ultimate goal is to have my own celebrity and entertainment talk show, whether on Zimbabwean or South African TV.”
