Bulawayo cultural icon Ngqabutho “Slimzar” Ncube has launched a philanthropic foundation to provide skills and technology access to disadvantaged children.
The Slimzar Wa Afrika Foundation aims to bridge the digital divide by equipping underprivileged youth with high-level skills, career guidance, and exposure to emerging technologies.
Ncube said the initiative was inspired by the rapid pace of global progress, from which many are excluded due to economic barriers.
“We have designed a curriculum to ensure that no child is left behind because of their background,” he said.
The foundation’s first project is a “Donate a Music Instrument” campaign, launched after Ncube identified the need at Queen Elizabeth Children’s Home.
He appealed for functional instruments and for fellow musicians to volunteer time teaching.
