2 Harare company directors up for US$2 million property fraud.

Two directors at Prime Homes Pvt Ltd  have appeared in court on allegations of selling company property valued at US$2 million using a forged board resolution.

Gerald Shupikai Mudzonga (52) and Patricia Taonesa (48) were facing fraud charges when they appeared before regional magistrate Jessie Kufa.

The two, who were released on free bail, stand accused of defrauding the company and fellow directors.

The State alleges that some time in 2025,the company bought a stand in Marlborough, measuring 14,1449 hectares and registered it under Deed of Transfer number 5994/83.

In April of the same year, the accused allegedly created a forged  board resolution bearing fellow directors' signatures and backdated the document to July 16,2024,purporting to have resolved to place the company under liquidation.

Armed with the forged resolution, the pair made an application to the Master of High Court to place Prime Homes Pvt Ltd under liquidation over mounting debts.

An application was made by the Master High Court to the High Court, resulting in Oliver Masomera of Obraum Trust Company Pvt Ltd being appointed as provisional liquidator of Prime Homes Pvt Ltd.

Masomera, through his company Obraum Trust Company Pvt Ltd, engaged several real estate agents to scout for potential buyers. The other directors later discovered that their company property was being fraudently sold, and they filed a police report.

But by then Masomera had already sold the Marlborough stand to Veromix for $1 200 000. A deposit of $600 000 had allwgedly already been paid, with the balance to be paid on  signing of the deed of transfer and capital gains tax.

Due to accused’s actions, complainant suffered an actual prejudice of US$2 000 000.
