Jehovah’s Witnesses in Zimbabwe are inviting members of the public to attend their annual convention series, themed “Eternal Happiness,” a three-day programme designed to show how Bible-based principles can help people find genuine happiness, peace of mind and a secure hope for the future.
The convention, one of the largest recurring faith-based gatherings in the world, is being held at the Harare Assembly Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses in Waterfalls from June 5 to 7. Admission is free, and organisers say the programme is open to all members of the community regardless of age, background or religious affiliation.
According to regional spokesman Clapperton Kariwo, the convention addresses a question that affects people everywhere.
“Who does not want to be happy? This year’s convention theme discusses how to be happy and how to remain happy. Those attending will discover the joy that comes from a solid hope for the future based on God’s promises found in the Bible,” Kariwo said.
Over 14 weekends, the convention is expected to attract more than 35,000 attendees to Harare, with sessions presented in Shona, English and Zimbabwe Sign Language. Through Bible-based talks, interviews, video presentations and dramatic productions, delegates will examine how applying Scriptural principles can help them cope with life’s challenges, strengthen family relationships and develop qualities that lead to lasting happiness.
Featured presentations include talks such as “Abundant Happiness Forever—Is It Realistic?”, “Why Are You Anxious?” and “Have You Discovered the Treasure?” Organisers say the programme will focus on practical lessons that help individuals draw closer to God, strengthen their faith and cultivate Christian values in everyday life.
One of the highlights of the convention will be the release of Episodes 4, 5 and 6 of “The Good News According to Jesus,” an 18-part video series portraying the life and ministry of Jesus Christ based on the Gospel accounts. The episodes will be premiered on consecutive days during the convention. The Saturday programme will also feature a baptism ceremony, symbolising an individual’s dedication to God and commitment to living according to Bible standards.
Beyond its spiritual significance, the convention is expected to generate economic activity for Harare. Hotels, transport operators, restaurants, retailers and other service providers are likely to benefit from increased visitor traffic during the convention period, contributing to business activity in the capital.

The anticipated economic and tourism impact follows the success of the 2025 Jehovah’s Witnesses convention programme, which attracted approximately 2,000 international visitors to Zimbabwe. Delegates from various countries contributed to tourism receipts, hotel occupancy and local spending while showcasing Harare as a welcoming destination for international events.
The “Eternal Happiness” programme will also be presented at 19 international conventions around the world in 2026. These major gatherings are scheduled for destinations including Portugal, South Africa and Thailand, where thousands of delegates from different nations are expected to attend the same Bible-based programme.
Globally, Jehovah’s Witnesses organised more than 6,000 conventions in nearly 500 languages in 2025 under the theme “Pure Worship.” According to the organisation, more than 12 million people attended conventions worldwide, including 19 international conventions held across 13 countries.
Organisers say this year’s convention aims to help attendees understand how applying Bible teachings, exercising faith in God and following the example of Jesus Christ can lead to enduring happiness despite the challenges facing the world today.
