‘CAB3 Queen’ splashes US$2000 on Insiza empowerment projects

Sikhanyisiwe Nkomo

Villagers from Ward 18 in Insiza received a significant developmental boost on Wednesday following a donation of over US$2,000 in funds and livestock from Zanu PF Ward 23 shadow councillor Sikhanyisiwe Nkomo

The handover, held at PBS Hall, was framed as a direct contribution to the government’s Vision 2030 mandate.

Nkomo—widely known as the “Host for ED” or the “CAB3 Queen”—used the event to launch a new piggery project, donating four piglets to be managed by the local representative, councillor Jostinah Ndondo.

Ndondo confirmed that she received US$300 earmarked for general ward development and US$200 set aside to complete floor tiling at the PBS Hall.

“The money donated here does not come from an outside source; it comes from her personally,” Ndondo told the gathering.

The empowerment drive also targeted local leadership and war veterans.

Twenty-six village heads and village development coordinators (Vidcos) received solar lights, bringing the total number of units distributed to 30.

Additionally, war veterans were granted US$102.

Nkomo also injected US$200 into the Sikhanyisiwe Women’s Goat Project Club, an initiative she established last year.

Phineas Majozi, a local villager, also received two piglets as part of an effort to decentralise the project to more households.

However, the event carried a heavy political message. While distributing the goods, Nkomo urged the community to embrace the controversial Constitutional Amendment Bill No. 3 (CAB3) and advocated for the extension of presidential terms.

“Let our first secretary of Zanu PF, President (Emmerson) Mnangagwa, along with MPs and councillors, complete the projects they have initiated through to 2030,” Nkomo said. “Term extension is enough to see them through.”

She also encouraged residents to adopt an “industrial sense of purpose,” stating that Zimbabwe will achieve middle-class economy status by 2030 if citizens take ownership of local growth.

The meeting was attended by various Zanu PF officials, including Ward 18 chairperson Florence Mntambo and secretary Tolika Nzuzo, alongside agricultural advisors and community leaders.

Residents expressed their gratitude for the ongoing development in the constituency, noting that the support complements other projects like the Constituency Development Fund-funded Msudu Clinic.
