KADOMA, Apr. 22 (NewsDay Live) – City authorities have ordered all car wash operators in the central business district to regularise their operations by Friday or face stiff penalties.
The directive follows concerns over the “rampant mushrooming” of illegal car wash bays, which officials say pose risks to public safety and undermine the city’s visual appeal.
Unapproved operators face heavy fines and the demolition of their structures, council has warned.
Motorists are also at risk of having their vehicles clamped and towed if found at undesignated washing bays, as authorities move to enforce municipal by-laws.
