Former Gweru deputy mayor Ncube dies

FORMER Gweru deputy mayor and senior MDC Alliance member, Obert Tachi Ncube has died.

FORMER Gweru deputy mayor and senior MDC Alliance member, Obert Tachi Ncube has died.

Ncube passed away yesterday morning at Midlands Private Hospital after battling a kidney ailment for a long time.

Former Gweru executive mayor, Sesel Zvidzai described the late Ncube as a dedicated person who fought hard to uplift the Midlands capital.

“He was deputy mayor from 2003 to 2008.  He worked hard for Gweru and was a dependable person,” Zvidzai said.

Mourners are gathered at Mkoba 16, Gweru. Burial arrangements will be announced in due course.
