Delta Revenue Crosses US$1 Billion Mark as Profits and Volumes Surge

In a statement released yesterday, Delta said revenue increased by 35 percent to a historic US$1.09 billion, while revenue growth excluding Schweppes stood at 23 percent.

Zimbabwe’s beverages giant Delta Corporation Limited has posted record-breaking financial results for the year ended March 2026, with revenue surpassing the US$1 billion mark for the first time.

In a statement released yesterday, Delta said revenue increased by 35 percent to a historic US$1.09 billion, while revenue growth excluding Schweppes stood at 23 percent.

“Delta Corporation achieved a significant milestone during the financial year with revenue surpassing the US$1 billion threshold for the first time.

Earnings before interest, tax, depreciation and amortisation (EBITDA) rose 42 percent to US$236 million, with profit before tax climbing 56 percent to US$210 million. Earnings per share increased 35 percent to US11.44 cents, while the effective tax rate stood at 27.6 percent,”the Corporation added

The beverages manufacturer attributed the performance to strong demand across its product portfolio, with Lager Beer and Sorghum Beer volumes both recording 19 percent growth.

“Sorghum Beer Zimbabwe volumes exceeded 4.6 million hectolitres, surpassing the previous peak achieved in 1998,” Delta said.

The company said Sparkling Beverages volumes grew 14 percent, while total non-alcoholic beverage volumes, including Schweppes Holdings Africa Limited (SHAL), rose 16 percent to 3.1 million hectolitres.

“SHAL, now consolidated as a subsidiary, contributed US$101 million in revenue during the period under review,”Delta revealed

The group said it absorbed approximately US$30 million in sugar surtax costs in a move aimed at safeguarding product affordability for consumers.

“Management absorbed a significant portion of the sugar surtax costs to cushion consumers and sustain market demand,” the statement said.

The company further disclosed that it paid more than US$306 million in taxes during the year, representing a 37 percent increase from the previous financial year.

“The taxes included excise duty, sugar surtax, corporate tax, Value Added Tax and Pay As You Earn contributions,”the Corporation highlighted.

However, Delta said cumulative tax assessments issued by the Zimbabwe Revenue Authority against Delta Beverages and Afdis had risen to approximately US$97 million from US$73 million recorded last year.

“An amount of US$18.7 million has already been paid under the ‘pay now, argue later’ principle while the assessments are being contested,” Delta said.

Delta Corporation is Zimbabwe’s largest beverages manufacturer, producing lager beer, sorghum beer, sparkling beverages and other alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks through subsidiaries and associate companies operating across the country.
