Nasty Tricks revealed in an interview with Southern Eye Lifestyle that he did not like Maskiri’s verse on his recent song Namwari (remix) in which he sings, anoziva masongsese nema lyrics vanhu vachiti akutedzera Maskiri kungeNasty Tricks (my girlfriend knows all my songs and lyrics and people are saying she is copying me like Nasty Tricks.”

“I remember sometime back, Stunner said something bad on his track Hameno and I just kept quite now its Maskiri, these guys should better not use my name in any of their songs because one of them will regret doing so. I haven’t shown the nasty side of me yet.

“From the very first time he came into the industry in 2003, people always said he sounded like me on his track Zviri zverudo which was more like a reply to my Zverudo. It’s not me who said so, but fans. I used to give him ideas and he was shocked when I personally approached him for collaboration for Mwari Ngakoreswe.
“The industry has changed since Nasty Tricks made noise. There is new competition, like Noble Styles, Sinbad and Stunner. They are doing it big and differently iye Nasty umm hapana, hapana now (he is no longer visible,” Maskiri said.
The Chitungwiza-based Maskiri added that mentioning Nasty Tricks on his track was with good intentions of getting people to talk about him.
“He should take advantage of that and reignite his lost touch instead of going around talking bad about me, but if that’s what he wants we will see where it will get him,” Maskiri said.
However, Nasty Tricks has revealed that he is working on a 15-track album titled Tsaga Era to be released soon.
“I worked with Diana Samkange, Willom Tight, Madiz and others on the new project,” he said.
The rapper said there were a number of songs to look out for.
“Pama Rocks is a serious party song with some brand new street lingoe that you have never had before, Gumbakumba with Willom and talks about the hardships that people face out of the country,” Nasty Tricks said.
The rapper added that he had been quiet all along because he was doing some other business across in South Africa.
“My silence doesn’t mean that I have lost my touch. I still have what it takes and I am going to show the new me,” he added.
The 28-year-old musician, born Trust Dojiwe, grew up in Gweru’s Mkoba suburb. He broke into the music scene in 2003 with one of his most successful hits Chimoko Chidanger and DDF.
