Foreign players continued to dominate the ongoing ITF South/Central African Junior Circuit currently underway at Harare Sports Club as the country’s remaining player Ronzai Saurombe was knocked out in the quarter-finals yesterday.
Saurombe went down fighting after pushing the first set against fourth-seeded Namibian Tuki Jacobs to a tie breaker before losing 7-6 (3) after running out of steam and going down 6-3 in the second set.
Jacobs will now meet Karan Salwan from India who came from a set down to beat Philip de Bruyn from South Africa 6-1, 1-6, 6-0.
South African top seed Mathew Rossouw remained in contention for the overall title after beating Ismael Mzai from Kenya 6-4, 6-2 to qualify for the semis.
Rossouw will today meet Okkie Kellerman from South Africa, who beat William Bashamuka from Ivory Coast 7-5, 6-3 in straight sets.
In the women’s draw, top seed Ratuja Bosale from India remained on course to capture the singles title after defeating Liniques Theron from South Africa 6-3, 6-4 in the semi-finals yesterday.

Bosale will now meet Lesedi Jacobs from Namibia in the final after the latter beat Nelise Vester from South Africa 6-3, 6-2 in the semi-final.
