The late Zifa Bulawayo provincial chairperson Washington Chimanda, who died on Friday, will be laid to rest at West Park Cemetery this morning.

Chimanda, who was 54, collapsed and died while standing in a queue in Bulawayo.

According to the programme released by the Zifa Bulawayo office yesterday, a service will be held at the Assemblies of God Church in Luveve at 8am. The body will leave the church for West Park Cemetery for burial at 10:50am.

Chimanda, a football administrator from the 1990s, was the province’s secretary from 2002 until 2014 when he defeated Horace Ndubiwa in an election to assume the provincial chairmanship, a position he held until the time of his death.
