AMBITIOUS Castle Lager Premier Soccer League side Chicken Inn have made their title intentions clear by making another major signing, this time grabbing Dynamos’ attacking midfielder-cum winger Valentine Kadonzvo, who has been training with the club.

Kadonzvo (26) started training with the Gamecocks on Monday at the Zimbabwe International Trade Fair grounds and coach Joey Antipas yesterday confirmed the player’s presence.

Antipas started his pre-season training with the club yesterday after arriving from Germany where he underwent a three-week long coaching attachment with Bundesliga club Werder Bremen.

“Valentine (Kadonzvo) is here. I think he signed two or three years with us. It is just my first day and it was good to see all the players pushing themselves and the turnout is looking good. We still have to compile our list for this year’s squad and we have to bring in some players and others have to go,” Antipas said.

Other former Dynamos players at Chicken Inn are attacking midfielder Brett Amidu, who was on loan to the Glamour Boys last year from FC Platinum and has since moved to the Gamecocks as well as striker Panashe Mutasa, while defender Phakamani Dube has also been spotted training with Chicken Inn.

Amidu has to sort out his contract issues with FC Platinum before he can commit to Chicken Inn who are involved in another player wrangle with the champions over former Bulawayo Chiefs’ striker Perfect Chikwende, believed to have signed both clubs but is in Zvishavane.

Assistant coach Prince Matore and manager Sikhumbuzo Banda had been taking the boys through their paces before Antipas’ arrival.

Castle Lager Soccer Star of the Year finalist Innocent Mucheneka, who was linked with a move to either South Africa or Caps United, has been absent without official leave.

Antipas confirmed he has not heard from the midfielder although Chicken Inn have said he is still contacted to the club.

“Mucheneka still has not reported for training. He is AWOL,” Antipas said.

Chicken Inn have also signed Sipho Ndlovu from Bulawayo City, Clive Augusto from Ngezi Platinum Stars, and Harare City’s Malvin Gaki.

Ngezi Platinum Stars’ goalkeeper Donovan Bernard, Tichaona Chipunza and Donald Teguru have also indicated their intentions of joining Chicken Inn.
