The Barbarians completed their weeklong tour in the country with a 38 – 30 win over Goshawks Schools in a closely contested match played at St John’s College.

The Barbarians, who arrived last Friday lost their first match of the tour to Harare Lions before recovering to beat Districts and then humiliated the Young Sables in their third match.

Even three tries from the impressive fullback Jamie Forrestar could not inspire the hosts who went to the first half with a comfortable 17 – 12 win.

The surprise withdrawal of centre Takudzwa Chieza, who barely missed a tackle early in the second half, weighed too much for the Goshawks who duly crumbled as the second half wore on.

The hosts seemed to be comfortably leading proceedings into the last 10 minutes, but two late tries from the lanky forward Peter Wild, completed a remarkable comeback for the visitors.

Sam Higgins and Nick Hearn also chipped in with two tries each while Charlie Jewers and Alex Huxtable’s two conversions respectively, was all the visitors needed to overcome the early scare.
