THE Premier Soccer League (PSL) has requested all its 18 clubs to provide players and officials’ COVID-19 vaccination certificates as it applies for the start of the 2021 league season.
The Chibuku Super Cup remains suspended pending another application for permission to resume playing.
In a letter yesterday, PSL chief executive officer Kennedy Ndebele told the clubs that documentation should be filed with the league office by next Tuesday.
“Please let us have your updated players’ lists by Tuesday August 3. We further request that you furnish us with copies of the players and officials’ COVID-19 vaccination certificates by the above-stated date,” he said.
“We are currently preparing an application to commence the Castle Premiership. The application will be submitted to Zifa. Please ensure that your registered home ground is ready to host the Castle Lager PSL matches. If the stadium is not ready to host the matches, you may be forced to play home matches at a neutral venue.”

The league boss reminded the clubs that the players’ transfer window closes tomorrow and the clubs should make sure they are done with registration processes.
The next window opens next year in January.
The local league was last played in 2019 before all sporting activities were suspended in March last year because of the COVID-19 pandemic.
FC Platinum are the champions after winning the title for the third time in a row.
